Thinning of the pine plantation at Golden Pine Raceway is underway. Along with the thinning, the logging crew has clear cut the back side of the track. This will allow a road to be built to the backside of the track. This road will lead to a new area for parking and spectating. This clear cutting also makes the back sand sweepers visible from the most popular viewing areas on vendors row. Here it is BEFORE and AFTER.

Despite 5+ inches of rain on the Wednesday/Thursday leading up to the 2012 Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier, the track crew did an amazing job of having the track ready for practice on Friday. The track stayed in excellent shape all weekend and the racing action was equally as good. Justin Summers (FL) and Johnny Moore (MS) put on a good show all weekend in the A classes which were also awarding AMA Pro-Am points. Some other standouts for the weekend included Kobe Heffner (GA), Parker Mashburn (TX), Trevor Dunn (AL), Joshua Cartwright (TN), Scott McElroy (MS), Jon-Murray Barr (MS), and Luke Clout (GA). Racers traveled from as far as Wisconsin to participate at the 9 Hour Off Road Cup on Saturday, February 25th. The course handled 9 hours of racing extremely well. The D19 Winter Series had an awesome turnout on Sunday, February 26th. The weather was superb and the track was at its best all day.
