Another type of publishing under the self-publishing umbrella is what is euphemistically called Vanity publishing or a Vanity press. A vanity publisher is one which will publish any book as long as an author is willing to pay for it. Because it is almost impossible for someone to get into a traditional publishing house as an unknown, vanity presses are very attractive to new authors. The name vanity publishing stems from the fact that certain publishers, for a fee, will publish any work by appealing to an authors vanity. These authors would be willing to pay a fee to see their name in print, no matter what the quality of the manuscript. As such, vanity presses gained a reputation of being more interested in the money they got from the authors than in the quality of work since the author takes on not only all the costs but also all the risks of the success of their book. Basically then, vanity presses have nothing to lose by publishing any type of work.
A bathroom vanity is a piece of furniture with a number of purposes. Usually you would expect your vanity to house your sink, and all the plumbing that goes with it. Hopefully with all the plumbing nicely housed out of view and out of the way. Your vanity is also a cabinet, so its the place where all those little things like the soap and the toothpaste are housed, as well as all those other things that really ought to be out of view as well. Make sure you choose a vanity of the right height. Most bathroom vanities are built at a standard height of 30 inches. Fine if youre the standard height, but if youre particularly short then you may find that the height of the vanity is too high for you, and if youre tall you may well have to stoop to clean your teeth. I suggest you spend some time in your local store looking at vanity units to decide what height is right for you.
Two highly appealing features of contemporary bathroom vanities are simplicity and beauty. One must know that an item as part of contemporary genre must have modest features. Trend of using bulky furniture with ornate designs is cliché. No doubt teak and mahogany are preferred but their usage has shrunk. You might want my opinion. I would suggest you to go for glass, chrome and steel vanities that come with enchanting designs and can beat others. You enjoy having them with technologically updated showering technologies including sauna and steam showers etc. Therefore, if you are remodeling you bathroom or are decorating it from the scratch, you should keep the contemporary bathroom vanities within your purview at least. However, unless you have seen one for yourself, words like minimalist, futuristic linear will not mean much to you and therefore it is best that you surf the net a little to have a look at the different styles of bathroom vanities first.
Todays generation may admire Victorian or Gothic designs in cinemas or on the pages of fashion magazines, but for their own home, they always choose the contemporary style. The shape of the bathroom too is important in choosing a vanity. The bathroom may be comparatively small, but if there is an odd corner, which can accommodate fairly big vanity, you should make use of it. However, you can do that only if the plumbing line can be extended to that corner. However, few modern bathrooms are oddly shaped or have odd corners. Most of them are a clean square or a rectangle. In such scenario, such consideration does not apply. Choose the material used in manufacturing the vanities with care. Wood is a traditional material, but today glass bathroom vanities are becoming very popular. Although glass looks delicate, thanks to the technological up gradations, they are no longer that fragile.
The first step of course, is to create a plan and set a budget. Your plan should consider the size of your bathroom, the amount you are willing to pay, and the area in which you have to build your vanity. The plan should be concise in inclusive of all pertinent information. You should know the size of the vanity you will need in regards to the location in which it will be placed. You will need exact measurements (a good rule of thumb is to measure twice and cut once). Finally you need to understand the design of your bathroom and the theme you are trying to create. You might also want to reign in your design nature in order to accommodate your budget for this project. While Victorian designs are more elegant they are also more costly. Contemporary designs are often the least expensive.
