Another type of publishing under the self-publishing umbrella is what is euphemistically called Vanity publishing or a Vanity press. A vanity publisher is one which will publish any book as long as an author is willing to pay for it. Because it is almost impossible for someone to get into a traditional publishing house as an unknown, vanity presses are very attractive to new authors. The name vanity publishing stems from the fact that certain publishers, for a fee, will publish any work by appealing to an authors vanity. These authors would be willing to pay a fee to see their name in print, no matter what the quality of the manuscript. As such, vanity presses gained a reputation of being more interested in the money they got from the authors than in the quality of work since the author takes on not only all the costs but also all the risks of the success of their book. Basically then, vanity presses have nothing to lose by publishing any type of work.
A frosted glass one piece vanity gives an exotic look to your bathroom. Accented with the right hardware this type of vanity looks more like art than the functional bathroom fixture it is. A one piece porcelain vanity is often seen in small bathrooms. The corner sink attached to the wall is a popular choice for really small bathrooms. Stone adds natural beauty to the bathroom. A vanity made of natural stone is not only beautiful, it is durable too. A stone pedestal base and stone sink accents the bathroom while adding a little personality, as well as functionality. Stone counter tops are also available in many different sizes and shapes. The countertop can be built with sink and counter in one piece. These are heavy and can be used on strong bases.
For more somber people that prefer stately bathrooms, mahogany bath vanities are ideal. Mahogany is a very dark wood that goes well with formal settings. In fact, it is one of the darkest of hardwoods available, and also appeals to many people because of its exceptional hardness. Mahogany has the capacity to add just the right touch to formal bathrooms, and goes very well with serious individuals that prefer class over cheer in furnishings. People with very energetic personalities would probably do best with stainless steel bath vanities. Stainless steel, at least when polished correctly, adds an almost space age feel to bathrooms and a special sense of energy. Stainless steel tend to imbue rooms with energy just like the energetic people they go best with. Also have the additional advantage of harmoniously blending with almost any color scheme.
